Heavy Duty Industrial Floors That Keep Working as Hard as You Do

An industrial floor has to take forklifts, pallet jacks, heavy loads and chemical spills, shift after shift, and keep performing without constant repair. That is exactly what our industrial floor solutions are built for. We grind, coat, polish and seal concrete into hard-wearing floors for warehouses, factories, workshops and distribution centres, finished to suit how the site is used.

Because we run every system in-house, the advice you get suits your operation, your loads and your budget, not one product we happen to push. We schedule around production, working nights, weekends or in zones so the site keeps moving.

Lowest Lifetime Cost

A coated or polished slab is done once, with no soft covering to tear up and relay every few years, so it is the most economical industrial floor across the life of the site.

Built for Heavy Plant

Takes forklifts, pallet jacks, racking loads and constant traffic without wearing out or lifting.

Wash-Down Ready

A seamless coated or sealed surface hoses and sweeps clean fast, with no seams or grout to trap oil, dust or product.

Minimal Downtime

We work in zones, overnight or across a planned shutdown so production keeps running while we finish the floor.

Slip & Safety Rated

We specify the coating, finish and line-marking to hit the slip rating and WHS requirements your site calls for.

Brighter, Safer Site

A light-reflective polished or coated floor lifts visibility across the floor and helps keep the workspace safe.

Every Industrial Floor Starts With the Right Prep

Floor preparation matters before any new industrial floor, and it matters most before epoxy or polished concrete. A coating only bonds and lasts if the slab under it is sound, dry and correctly profiled. On an existing slab, old coatings, line marking, oil, glue and surface damage have to be ground off first. On a new slab, we grind out high and low spots so racking, traffic lanes and the new floor sit true. Prepare it properly and the floor lasts for years; rush it and even the best coating can lift or fail early.

Need the slab prepped first? See our concrete grinding and floor preparation page.

Industrial Flooring Done Right, At Scale

What Industrial Flooring Involves

Industrial flooring is a finished concrete floor built for warehouses, factories and workshops. OzGrind does not supply slabs. We take an existing or new concrete slab and finish it to suit the demands of the site, by grinding, coating, polishing or sealing the surface. The result is one floor that handles forklifts, heavy plant, chemicals and wash-downs without the recurring cost and downtime of replacing it.

"We recently used ozgrind to refurbish a 600sqm slab in a boat repair warehouse. The slab was in terrible condition, uneven, with holes and years of paint and fiberglass on it. The level of service and attention to detail and the effort they put into the job was outstanding. I have no problem recommending them to our friends and we will be using them again on our next project."

Industrial Flooring Across Brisbane & Australia

OzGrind has spent more than 15 years finishing industrial concrete floors across Brisbane, from warehouses and factories to workshops and distribution centres. An industrial floor has to earn its keep: it needs to take heavy plant, resist chemicals, stay safe and easy to clean, and keep performing for years without constant spend.

The Right System for the Site

Because we run every system in-house, we match the finish to each environment instead of pushing one product across every job. Warehouses, factories and workshops usually suit industrial epoxy and coatings, large floor plates suit polished concrete, and bare or tired slabs can be protected with sealing and resealing. We also handle the surface preparation that every system depends on.

Large Projects, Australia-Wide

Big floor plates are routine for us. Our heavy-duty machinery and experienced crews deliver large industrial floors, and for sizable projects we travel Australia-wide. Refurbishing an existing site? Our warehouse and factory refurbishment service covers full floor make-overs. We work around your operation, scheduling after hours or in stages so there is no unplanned downtime, and we come back within 48 hours with honest advice and a no-obligation quote.

Choosing an Industrial Floor: What to Consider

Some of the questions worth thinking through before you commit to an industrial concrete flooring system include:

  • How can you guard against staining and slip hazards?
  • What are the working conditions unique to your business?
  • Will you be running forklifts on the floor?
  • Do you handle or store chemicals?
  • Will there be heavy foot traffic?
  • What type and how much traffic will the floor take?
  • Will the floor be subjected to heat variations?

Factor in Maintenance Costs From the Start

Be clear on what your floor will cost to maintain over its life. Will you need to wax and buff regularly, or will an industrial polished concrete floor cut your maintenance, sweeping and mopping costs? A sealed or polished slab is one of the lowest-upkeep industrial floors you can choose.

Colour Matters

Lighter colours make a space look larger and brighter, and a brighter space can help you get more out of your existing lighting. It is a small detail that changes how a warehouse or workshop feels day to day.

Once you start weighing up options you quickly realise the floor has to be easy to clean, chemical resistant, and able to take high foot and machinery traffic, and ideally heat, fire and impact resistant as well. Because industrial polished concrete is abrasion resistant, hard wearing and slip resistant, it suits high-traffic industrial and public premises. OzGrind are proficient in all types of industrial concrete flooring, including resin-based protective coatings like epoxy. Every floor we finish is durable, easy to maintain, visually appealing and can be made non-slip, and the right system can also reduce noise and vibration and improve safety. To talk through your requirements, contact OzGrind, the polished concrete flooring specialists.

Industrial Polished Concrete That Looks the Part

An industrial polished concrete floor is as practical as it is good looking. It is quick and easy to clean, shrugs off heavy traffic, and adds genuine character to a warehouse, showroom or workshop. You choose the build first, either grind and seal or mechanically polished concrete, then dial in the level of stone exposure, gloss and colour to suit the space.

Pricing on large industrial floors is worked out per job after a site visit, not off an online calculator, so the number reflects your slab and site. You can still see and touch every colour and finish in person at our Brisbane showroom or take the virtual 360° tour from anywhere, then work directly with our qualified tradespeople through to a finished floor.

Industrial Flooring FAQs

How much does industrial flooring cost?

Cost comes down to the system you choose, the size and condition of the slab and the site. Larger floors attract better per-square-metre rates, and sealing and epoxy sit at the economical end while polished concrete is the premium option. Because industrial floors run well beyond our online calculator’s range, we price them per job, so ask for a fixed quote and we will size it to your slab and site.

Which flooring is best for a warehouse or factory?

You want a floor that takes heavy plant, resists chemicals and is easy to clean. We usually recommend industrial epoxy or polished concrete, depending on loads, wash-downs and slip requirements, and we assess the slab and spec the right system for your operation.

Can you work after hours to avoid downtime?

Yes. Most industrial work is staged after hours, across weekends or in zones so production and dispatch keep moving. We map the staging with you before we start, so the floor is finished without unplanned downtime.

Is epoxy or polished concrete better for industrial use?

Both perform well. Epoxy suits workshops and factories that need chemical resistance and wash-downs; polished concrete suits warehouses and large floor plates that want a tough, dust-free, low-maintenance surface. We spec the right one for your site.

How long does an industrial floor take?

That comes down to the floor area, the system chosen and how much grinding or repair the slab needs. You get a clear program with your quote and we work to it, phasing the job around your shifts where needed.

Can you refinish or refurbish an existing industrial slab?

Yes. We grind back, repair and refinish or recoat the slab you already have, so most sites do not need any new concrete. For a full floor make-over, ask about our warehouse and factory refurbishment service.

Can you handle large or Australia-wide industrial projects?

Yes. Our heavy-duty machinery and crews are built for big floor plates, and for major industrial jobs we mobilise Australia-wide, with travel and accommodation built into the project.

Do you service industrial sites outside Brisbane?

Yes. We work across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba, and we travel Australia-wide for larger industrial projects.
