They share the same first step, grinding, then differ on finish. Mechanically polished concrete is taken through diamond grits so the shine is in the slab and lasts indoors. Grind and seal gets its sheen from a sealer on top, which is quicker and cheaper. Honed concrete is left with a flat, grippy low-sheen, ideal for Toowoomba driveways, paths and entries.

Ground back and sealed for grip and UV resistance, it copes with range frost, dry heat and sun, and stays safe underfoot where a glossy polished floor would be too slick outside. It also carries the indoor concrete look out to the entry and drive.
For a garage, rural shed or workshop, epoxy is usually the better fit. It seals the slab against oil, fuel and chemicals, hoses or wipes clean, and comes clear, in a solid colour or as a flake blend, with non-slip grades on request. Polished concrete is better suited to living areas; tell us the space and we will steer you right.
Some movement is normal in any concrete slab. Control joints are designed in, and fine hairlines can appear over time; we leave them as character or fill them during prep. Polishing itself does not cause cracking, and our grinding and preparation stage is when we assess and treat the slab.
It depends on the size and finish. A mechanically polished floor usually takes several days for the repeated grinding and densifying passes, an epoxy floor is often one to three days plus curing, and grind and seal sits between.
