A cost-effective concrete polish for large commercial, industrial and retail floors. We polish the surface of your existing slab, with no grinding, to lift a plain floor into a cleaner, harder-wearing, easy-clean finish across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
A surface polish is exactly that: we polish the top of your existing slab. There is no grinding, so we do not cut into the concrete or expose stone. We refine and buff the surface as it already sits, then seal and finish it to your chosen sheen.
Because there is no grinding, a surface polish is not right for every slab. Any imperfections in the concrete largely stay: high and low spots, unevenness, trowel marks and staining all remain visible. It is not a way to fix or level a poor slab. Where it works brilliantly is large, functional floors that just need to look sharper and clean easier than a bare slab, at a fraction of the cost of a full polish.

A surface polish is at its best over big, functional floors where the priority is a clean, hard-wearing finish at a sensible price. It is a popular choice for industrial flooring and a smart, budget-friendly option on factory and warehouse refurbishments. It is generally not suited to homes, where a full mechanically polished concrete or grind and seal finish is the better fit. Both grind the slab completely flat first, then either polish it or coat it with a clear sealer, for the refined, even look most residential clients want.
A surface polish skips grinding altogether. We start straight at the polishing stage on top of your existing slab, so it is a budget option: fewer steps and less labour. The trade-off is that whatever is in the slab stays, so if it is not perfectly flat, or has imperfections or surface damage, that remains in the finished floor. On a large commercial floor that is usually fine; sometimes, though, the slab needs the grinding that only MPC can do.
Mechanically polished concrete (MPC) is a multi-stage grind-then-polish process. The grinding lets us work the slab flat and refine it properly. How far we grind is your choice, from a nil exposure look (we grind only 0 to 1mm, so no stone shows) through to full stone exposure, which is why MPC costs more but delivers the premium result homes and feature spaces want.
Not sure which suits your floor? We will look at the slab, the space and your budget and recommend the right one. For prep and grinding, see our concrete grinding page.

No. Because there is no grinding, high and low spots, unevenness, trowel marks and staining in the slab all largely remain. It is not a way to fix or level a poor slab, and it is generally not suited to homes. A surface polish is generally the most cost-effective polished finish because it covers large areas quickly with no grinding. The price depends on floor size, slab condition and the sheen you choose. If your project is under 200m² you can get an indicative price straight away in our cost calculator. Keep in mind that unless the slab has already been burnished for our architectural burnished finish, we do not usually offer a surface polish on small areas. Yes. A surface polish can be finished in matte, semi gloss or high gloss to match our mechanically polished concrete range. Higher gloss takes more buffing passes, which we will factor into your quote.
Yes. It is your structural slab, polished and sealed, so it stands up to heavy foot traffic, forklifts, trolleys and pallet jacks and is easy to sweep and mop. With an occasional reseal it keeps performing for the life of the floor.
