Protect and refresh your concrete with the right sealer. We seal new slabs, clean and re-seal tired floors and driveways, and dust-proof warehouses across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Concrete sealing means applying a protective sealer to a concrete floor or driveway so it repels water, oil, dust and stains. It works with the surface you already have, no decorative grinding to expose stone, so it is the practical, lower-cost way to protect a slab, refresh a faded driveway or lock down a dusty warehouse floor.
This is different to grind and seal. Grind and seal is a decorative polished-concrete finish where we grind the slab to reveal stone, then seal it. Plain concrete sealing keeps the existing surface and simply protects it, with a penetrating sealer or densifier soaked into the slab, a topical seal on top, or both, finished anywhere from matte to a wet-look gloss.

Sealing concrete the right way is all in the preparation. A sealer can only ever be as good as the surface underneath it, so most of our work happens before the first coat goes on. Here is how we seal a floor or driveway.

We clear the floor, strip back any old, flaking sealer or paint and degrease it. On a driveway or warehouse that means a heavy clean; on a new slab it means letting it cure first.
We fill cracks and joints and, where a surface is rough or previously coated, give it a light sand or grind so the sealer can key in properly. A sound, open surface is what makes a seal last.
We apply the right product for the job, a penetrating densifier that hardens and dust-proofs the slab, or a topical sealer in even coats for a satin, matte or wet-look gloss. Some floors get both.
The sealer cures to a tough, water and oil resistant surface that wipes clean. Where grip matters, on driveways, ramps and wet areas, we add a non-slip additive before the final coat.
From a fresh slab to a tired driveway or a dusty warehouse floor, these are the sealing jobs our crews take on across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
Once a new slab has cured we apply a penetrating sealer or densifier that soaks in, hardens the surface and locks out water and stains, so your fresh concrete starts protected.
Sealed floors and driveways lose their coating over time. We deep-clean the surface, strip what is left of the old seal and apply fresh coats so it looks and performs like new again.
Where an old coating is flaking or yellowed, we lightly sand or grind it back to a sound surface first, then re-seal. It is the lasting fix when a simple recoat will not hold.
Bare warehouse and garage slabs shed fine grey dust. A densifier soaks in and hardens the concrete, cutting dusting, sealing the surface and making it far easier to sweep and clean.
We clean and seal concrete driveways, paths and patios to bring back colour, repel oil and water and slow weathering, with a non-slip additive where it is needed underfoot.
On a fresh slab a cure and seal compound locks in moisture so the concrete cures evenly and is protected from day one, ready to seal properly once it has fully cured.
A protective coating that repels water, oil and chemicals, with waterproofing-grade sealers where moisture is a concern, keeping the slab sound and easy to maintain.
Warehouses, factories and retail floors sealed and resealed for heavy traffic and easy cleaning, scheduled after hours or in stages so your operation keeps running.
After the polished-concrete look instead? That is a different job. See grind & seal or mechanically polished concrete for a decorative finish, or our epoxy & garage coatings for a heavy-duty coating. We also seal natural stone and terrazzo, see our stone & terrazzo polishing and sealing page.
Whether it is a brand-new slab that needs protecting or a faded driveway crying out for a clean and re-seal, our Brisbane and Gold Coast crews match the right sealer to the job.
A re-seal usually begins with a deep clean and a light sand so the new sealer can grip, though a sound slab can simply be sealed as it is. You end up with a hard-wearing, easy-clean surface in the sheen you choose, from a natural matte to a wet-look gloss.
From concrete floor sealing to driveway sealing and protecting outdoor concrete around the yard, we tell you honestly whether a re-seal will do or the surface needs more prep first.

Why Queensland homes and businesses seal their concrete, for protection, easier cleaning and a longer-lasting slab.

A good sealer locks out water, oil and chemicals before they can soak in and stain or break down the concrete, so the floor or driveway lasts longer and stays looking its best.
A sealed surface is smooth and non-porous, so spills wipe up and everyday cleaning is a quick sweep and damp mop. No more dirt and grime working into bare concrete.
Bare slabs shed fine grey dust that settles on everything. A penetrating densifier hardens the surface and shuts that dusting down, ideal for garages, workshops and warehouses.
Sealers come in everything from an invisible matte through to a satin sheen or a wet-look gloss, so you can protect the concrete and still get the look you want.
For driveways, ramps, patios and wet areas we add a non-slip additive to the sealer, lifting grip underfoot without changing the look of the floor.
Whether it is a freshly cured slab, a tired driveway or a warehouse floor that has never been sealed, we prep it back to a sound surface and seal it properly.
We match the product to the slab and the job, from protective sealers and dust-proofing densifiers to curing compounds and re-sealing tired floors.
A protective sealer repels water, oil and stains before they can soak in and mark the slab. Penetrating sealers protect from within with no film, topical sealers add a tougher surface barrier, with waterproofing-grade products where moisture is a concern.
Ask About Protective SealingBare slabs shed fine grey dust. A lithium densifier soaks in and hardens the surface so it stops dusting, seals tight and sweeps clean, the go-to fix for dusty garage, shed and warehouse floors.
Stop Concrete DustOn new slabs a cure and seal compound holds moisture in so the slab cures evenly and is protected from day one. On older floors we re-seal, or sand and re-seal where the old coating is flaking, to bring the protection back.

OzGrind has spent more than 20 years sealing and resealing concrete for homeowners, builders and businesses across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Concrete sealing is the practical way to protect a slab you already have, lock out water, oil and stains, cut concrete dust and bring a tired floor or driveway back to life, without the cost of a full decorative grind.
Concrete sealing means applying a protective sealer to the concrete surface. A penetrating sealer or densifier soaks into the slab and hardens it from within with no surface film, while a topical sealer sits on top for a sheen and a tougher barrier against spills. Many floors use both. Unlike grind and seal, which is a polished-concrete finish that exposes stone, plain sealing keeps the existing surface and simply protects it, finished anywhere from an invisible matte to a wet-look gloss.
Sealing runs in four stages: clean and strip the surface back, repair cracks and joints and lightly sand or grind where a coating needs to key in, apply the sealer or densifier in even coats, then let it cure to a tough, water and oil resistant surface. The sealer can be solvent-based for a deep wet-look gloss or water-based for a lower-sheen satin or matte with less odour, and we add a non-slip additive where grip matters. Good preparation is the part that matters most, because a sealer is only ever as good as the surface underneath it.
Not every job is the same. A clean and re-seal refreshes a sound floor or driveway that has simply lost its coating. A sand and re-seal is the lasting fix when an old sealer is flaking or yellowed and needs taking back first. Dust-proofing, or densifying, hardens a bare warehouse or garage slab so it stops shedding fine grey dust and becomes far easier to clean. We will tell you straight which one your slab actually needs.
The cost of sealing depends on the size and condition of your slab, how much cleaning, stripping or sanding it needs first, and the sealer you choose. Resealing a sound floor costs less than reviving a flaking, previously coated one. Larger, simpler areas cost less per square metre than small or detailed spaces. If you want to protect the concrete you have, sealing is the answer. If you want the decorative polished look with stone showing through, that is our grind and seal finish, or a fully mechanically polished floor. Having every option under one roof means we point you to whatever genuinely suits the slab and the budget, rather than pushing a result that will not last.
OzGrind offers a wide range of protective floor coatings and concrete sealers, with options available for all purposes. When you choose to seal or coat your concrete floor, not only are you going to make it look better, you are protecting the floor from staining and wear. Ensure you are giving your surfaces the best possible treatment thanks to our premium selection of products for sealing concrete.
When looking at sealing your concrete surfaces, you want to make sure you are applying a solution that will stand the test of time. Our products offer a variety of benefits, helping to strengthen and prevent your floors from spalling or cracking. Invest in a penetrating sealer to create a barrier against water, moisture and deicing salts whilst giving a natural finish without changing the appearance of your surfaces. A decorative coating, on the other hand, will leave a satin or gloss finish that enhances the look and texture of your surfaces. Looking to simply apply a protective concrete coating film? Our durable coatings are designed to resist abrasion and chemicals, providing a long-lasting finish for your indoor areas.

We seal and reseal concrete floors, driveways and slabs for homes and businesses right across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
For most floors and driveways, yes. Bare concrete is porous, so it soaks up water, oil and stains and sheds fine grey dust. Sealing closes the surface so it resists stains, cleans easily and lasts longer. Dense polished floors need very little, but exposed and high-traffic concrete really benefits from a seal.
Unsealed concrete stays porous. It marks more easily from oil, wine and rust, draws in water that can lead to cracking and pitting over time, and keeps shedding dust. Sealing prevents most of that and makes the surface far easier to keep clean.
You clean and degrease the slab, strip back any old or flaking sealer, repair cracks and joints, then apply the sealer in even coats and let it cure. On rough or previously coated floors a light sand or grind first helps the sealer key in. The preparation matters most, because a sealer is only ever as good as the surface underneath it.
A new slab needs to cure first, usually around 28 days, before a permanent sealer goes on. If you want protection sooner, a cure and seal compound can be applied early to hold moisture in while the concrete cures, then a full seal once it is ready.
Most sealers are touch dry in a few hours and ready for foot traffic in about 24 hours. Allow around 72 hours before heavy traffic, vehicles or washing the floor. Curing times vary with the product, the weather and the coats applied, so we give you a clear timeline with your quote.
It depends on traffic and exposure. A busy driveway or commercial floor usually needs resealing every two to three years, while a quiet indoor floor can go much longer. Resealing is quick and far cheaper than starting over, so it is worth doing before the old coating wears through.
Sealing makes concrete highly water resistant and repels surface water, but most sealers are not a full waterproof membrane. Where genuine waterproofing is needed we use waterproofing-grade products suited to the area, so tell us what the floor has to handle and we will spec the right system.
That is your choice. A penetrating sealer leaves the look almost unchanged with a natural, near-matte finish, while a topical sealer can add anything from a soft satin sheen to a wet-look gloss that deepens the colour. We show you the options before we start.
Mechanically polished and burnished floors are densified and buffed so they need very little, just an occasional top-up. Bare, grind and seal and outdoor concrete rely on a sealer for their protection and do need resealing over time. We will tell you which applies to your floor.
Concrete sealing protects the surface you already have, with no decorative grinding. Grind and seal is a polished-concrete finish where the slab is ground to reveal stone and then sealed. If you want protection, choose sealing; if you want the polished look, see our grind and seal page.
