GlobeWest’s Brisbane showroom presents designer furniture across roughly 700 square metres, and the floor is part of the display. It had run a grind and seal polished concrete and an epoxy style coating before, and coatings are not ideal in a furniture store: heavy pieces being moved daily will eventually scratch any topical layer. We ground the slab back and mechanically polished it to a minimum stone exposure in a matt finish. MPC has no coating to scratch, the polished surface is the concrete itself, so it is about as close to indestructible as a showroom floor gets, and it gives the ranges a neutral, gallery like base.
